I have worked with essential oils in the past, but I have now stepped up my game. Young Living oils are therapeutic grade. This means that they have been prepared in a much more mindful and precise way.
The owner and founder of Young Living, Gary Young, has made it a point to either directly own the farms that grow the plants to make the oils, or have a very close eye on the farms with which the company associates. They pride themselves on the purity of their product and controlling the entire Seed to Seal process. This company will not plant a crop in bad soil. They test every batch of distilled oil that has been pressed from the plants, and if that batch doesn’t meet their requirements, they will not sell it.
There are three different ways to enjoy the benefits of the Young Living oils: inhalation, topical application, and internal consumption. That’s right–you can use some of these as dietary supplements.
Now, what are these good for?!? Why would I want to do something with essential oils? At Under Pressure Therapeutics, we definitely focus on rehabilitation, and isn’t essential oils more woo-ey and new-agey? NO! All medications we have today originally derived from plants. Essential oils are the blood of plants, and they can help in a much more natural way, which prevents nasty side-effects. Your standard topical pain reliever smells like peppermint or wintergreen, right? Why do you think that is? It’s because aromatherapy is an ancient practice for healing and everything we have today has derived from some older practice. So why go back to older practices? To prevent those nasty side effects, of course! Wouldn’t it be great to be able to not be fatigued during the day, “forcing” you to drink caffeine which then causes you to have bad sleep, so you take a sleep aid to help you sleep? Wouldn’t you rather be able to wake up from a restful sleep ready and able to accomplish the tasks of the day, and if you need a little energy boost, you just take a drop of oil in your water?
Essential oils can help just about anything–from managing pain and stress to helping alleviate digestive problems. There is so much to learn about all of the different oils, so if you have something specific you would like to know more about, please let me know. I will do research, and it will give me starting points for learning about everything this company has to offer.
