Young Living with some Basics

I just want to talk about some of the oils that I use in my everyday life, and why.
Stress Away. Who doesn’t have stress? This calming blend uplifts as well as calms. It’s a mix of Copaiba, Lime, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Ocotea, and Lavender, and it really invites peace and tranquility. I put it on my shoulders, as I often feel stress there before anywhere else.
Patchouli relaxes and decreases inflammation. It can clarify thoughts and help you discard insecurities. It can also be used as a dietary aid. I put it on my collar bones, just a little bit.
Valor is one of my all-time favorites! The blend empowers and encourages while keeping you feeling grounded. I put it on my feet to keep me grounded, or on my throat when I feel like I need extra help communicating.
Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint are my bread an butter. If I had to choose only 3 oils, these 3 would be it! Lavender is calming and helps with cuts, scrapes, and bruises; lemon is super detoxifying; peppermint helps with soreness, headaches, and more. I’ll put a drop of lemon and peppermint in hot water if I’m having a stomach ache. I’ll put a drop of lavender on my joints when they are achy or over my heart if I’m getting anxious.
If you had to only choose one oil, it would be Thieves. This combination of oils got its name because during the dreaded plague, spice traders would dip their bandanas in a combination similar to this and wrap their faces with it to prevent getting the plague while they broke into houses that had been boarded up because of infected people and steal their valuables. These thieves would not get sick! Young Living has a whole line of Thieves products. I use the oil as a dietary supplement if I’m getting sick or the spray in my throat if I’m getting sick. I use the toothpaste and the mouthwash. I also have the household cleaner you can use for stoves, countertops, and my husband has even used it to clean his car tires! The possibilities are endless.
Young Living also has a line of supplements, products, and recently launched a line called Vitality, which is specifically designed for dietary and cooking use.

Young Living with Peppermint

Peppermint oil has been used in healing remedies since 1500 BC. It has been used in Greek and Roman mythology and used throughout cultures throughout the world.
Most people know that you should drink peppermint tea when your stomach doesn’t feel well. And I think most of us know that many topical analgesics like Tiger Balm smell of peppermint, not to mention the respiratory benefits from Vick’s Vapor rub and the like. It doesn’t take a scientist to tell you that peppermint is great for your respiratory system–you just have to pay a visit to the Celestial Seasonings factory in Boulder and spend a minute in the famous peppermint room!
A short list of what peppermint is good for:
  • Relieving symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Heartburn
  • Headaches
  • Muscle spasms
  • Congestion
  • Menstural problems
  • Liver / Gallbladder problems
WebMD has a whole list of ailments peppermint oil can help. It also lists some of the side effects, including burning on the skin. Peppermint oil is quite powerful, so be sure to use it with a carrier oil (jojoba oil, avocado oil, etc.) when applying to your skin, and make sure you don’t get it too close to your eyes. You can also use it as a dietary supplement, but make sure it won’t interfere with any current medications you are taking.
We have a recipe on our Pinterest where you can use peppermint oil for a yummy, chocolatey, healthy treat!

Young Living with R.C.

One thing about stress we don’t usually think much about is how we lose control of our breath. For some reason, we think it’s a great idea to hold our breath–that it will make everything better. But that’s not the case. Breathing helps
R.C. is a blend that combines Myrtle, Eucalyptus Globulus, Marjoram, Pine, Eucalyptus Citriodora, Lavender, Cypress, Eucalyptus Radiata, Spruce, and Peppermint to open up your lungs and melt away any congestion. It also combats lung infections and relieves allergy symptoms.
Dilute this oil one part to one part, as the amount of eucalyptus (3 different kinds) and mints can be overpowering and can cause skin sensitivity. Diffuse in your home or office. You can also put a few drops on cotton balls and put in or on your air vents.

Young Living with…. M-Grain

Headaches: no one likes them. I can honestly say that I’ve never heard anyone say something like “You know, I could really use a headache right now,” and not be sarcastic about it.
At Under Pressure Therapeutics, we deal with headaches every day. We know what to do for most headaches, and have helped many clients overcome their daily or weekly headaches. We believe that there’s no such thing as a “regular” or “normal” headache. We even have a whole page dedicated to headaches.
Aromatherapy can help immensely when dealing with headaches, and Young Living has an amazing blend especially for headaches. M-Grain combines basil, marjoram, lavender, roman chamomile, peppermint, and helichrysum to soothe headaches and migraines. Basil combats muscle spasms, marjoram is anti-inflammatory, lavender combats insomnia and stress, roman chamomile beats tension and restlessness, peppermint is a powerful pain blocker, and helichrysum has analgesic and anesthetic properties. This combination fights almost any headache.
When using M-Grain, you can dilute it 1:1 ratio of the blend and a carrier oil, diffuse it and directly inhale it, or add a few drops to a bath. You can apply it directly to your forehead, temples, and the back of your neck.

Young Living with … PanAway

One of the most popular blends Young Living has to offer, PanAway reduces pain an inflammation. It can also increasecirculation and accelerate healing. The mix of wintergreen, helichrysum, clove, and peppermint make for a very fresh, clean scent that immediately calms the body.
PanAway can be applied directly to the temples, back of neck, or forehead for decreasing headaches. Applied directly to the spine can help alleviate discomfort within the spine. It can also help alleviate deep muscle pain, at least until you come in for a massage.
Because of the amount of menthol and the intensity of this oil blend, there is a risk of skin sensitivity. If you find that there is a skin sensitivity, please dilute it with a carrier oil, such as olive oil, apricot oil, almond oil, or jojoba oil.

Deep Relief only comes in a roll on, but is such an amazing oil blend! I recently tried it out just because, and I have fallen in love with it.
The mix of peppermint, vetiver, lemon, Idaho balsam fir, clove, copaiba, wintergreen, helichrysum, and palo santo make for an invigorating aroma. Because it’s sustained in fractionated coconut oil and in a roll-on bottle, it is ready for direct application. Keep it in your purse or pocket for quick relief from life’s pains.
This convenient oil reduces soreness or tension, calms nerves, helps with headaches or stomach aches, and respiratory issues.

Young Living with… Aroma Siez

I find myself using Aroma Siez a lot lately. It is amazing for muscle cramps and soreness! The mixture of basil, marjoram, cypress, lavender, and peppermint combines to create a nice almost sweet smell.
Basil is an anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic, which is great for muscle tension or head aches. Marjoram is another antispasmodic and it’s amazing for sore muscles, sprains, or headaches. Cypress relieves muscle cramps and improves overall circulation and may improve respiratory problems. Peppermint is the most commonly know topical analgesic, which helps alleviate pain and is amazing for headaches. Lavender is the balancing oil that brings this blend to a comforting, muscle balancing blend.
This combination helps to eliminate muscle spasms and tension. I’ve used it on acute injuries, chronic tension, and muscle soreness. It’s good for just after a work out in a bath or applying directly to your most sore muscles. It can also help with arthritis pain and most headaches.

  • Lemon: Detoxifies! A drop in your water helps aid in detoxing your liver and every other organ. Putting it on a cut will hurt, so I don’t suggest that.
  • Frankincense: This is not just an ancient oil. This oil helps with increasing spirituality, calming menstrual cramping, and can help in the recovery of chemotherapy and cancer.
Young Living also has quite a few blends to aid in different types of issues:

If you wanted to get EVERY oil they have, which is over 120 different oils, you could pay the nice sum of $2,500, then I would suggest that. However, most of us don’t have that kind of cash. They do, however, sell a premium starter kit, which has the 10 oils listed above as well as a Stress Away, which is another amazing oil, for only $150, and that includes a diffuser. So if you’re looking at getting some basic oils with a great diffuser and some samples of other products, just let us know.
