Young Living with Oola

Dr. Dave and Dr. Troy are two chiropractors who wrote a book called ” Oola: Finding Balance in an Unbalanced World” and focus on establishing balance between the 7 necessary Fs in life: Fitness, Finance, Family, Friends, Fun, Field, and Faith. Establishing this balance takes a lot of work, dedication, and constant reevaluation of the status quo. This book goes through each one and helps you evaluate where you are strong and where you need work. It helps you recognize detrimental thought forms and limiting beliefs, as well as teach you tangible lessons to really help you.
So what does this have to to with Young Living and essential oils? Well, these great guys have been working with Young Living and have created a collection, called the Infused 7, which are special blends designed to help you in each of these areas. The Infused 7 include the oils for Fitness, Finance, Family, FriendsFun, Field, and Faith.
Each of the oils contain different oils. I could talk about each one individually, but then you’d be reading for a very long time about each oil blend. So I will leave it with: Get balanced in your life; find your Oola.

Young Living with some Basics

I just want to talk about some of the oils that I use in my everyday life, and why.
Stress Away. Who doesn’t have stress? This calming blend uplifts as well as calms. It’s a mix of Copaiba, Lime, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Ocotea, and Lavender, and it really invites peace and tranquility. I put it on my shoulders, as I often feel stress there before anywhere else.
Patchouli relaxes and decreases inflammation. It can clarify thoughts and help you discard insecurities. It can also be used as a dietary aid. I put it on my collar bones, just a little bit.
Valor is one of my all-time favorites! The blend empowers and encourages while keeping you feeling grounded. I put it on my feet to keep me grounded, or on my throat when I feel like I need extra help communicating.
Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint are my bread an butter. If I had to choose only 3 oils, these 3 would be it! Lavender is calming and helps with cuts, scrapes, and bruises; lemon is super detoxifying; peppermint helps with soreness, headaches, and more. I’ll put a drop of lemon and peppermint in hot water if I’m having a stomach ache. I’ll put a drop of lavender on my joints when they are achy or over my heart if I’m getting anxious.
If you had to only choose one oil, it would be Thieves. This combination of oils got its name because during the dreaded plague, spice traders would dip their bandanas in a combination similar to this and wrap their faces with it to prevent getting the plague while they broke into houses that had been boarded up because of infected people and steal their valuables. These thieves would not get sick! Young Living has a whole line of Thieves products. I use the oil as a dietary supplement if I’m getting sick or the spray in my throat if I’m getting sick. I use the toothpaste and the mouthwash. I also have the household cleaner you can use for stoves, countertops, and my husband has even used it to clean his car tires! The possibilities are endless.
Young Living also has a line of supplements, products, and recently launched a line called Vitality, which is specifically designed for dietary and cooking use.

Young Living with Chamomile

Young Living actually has 2 types of chamomile: Roman and German. Both look similar–adorable little white flowers with a bright yellow center. Both have many similar benefits, such as increasing relaxation, calming the nerves and mind, and tasting yummy in teas. Both are anti-inflammatory. Both are a natural anesthetic. Both naturally grow in Utah. Both help with insomnia and skin conditions. Both from the Asteraceae Botanical Family. But there are some slight differences.
Roman Chamomile:
  • Naturally grows in France
  • Anti-spasmodic, anti-parasitic, and antibacterial
  • Relieves ADHD, anxiety, depression, and restlessness
  • Helps minimize irritability and stabilize mood
  • Helps combat nervousness
German Chamomile:
  • Naturally grows in Idaho, Egypt, and Hungary
  • Powerful antioxidant, anti-tumoral
  • Promotes digestion, liver, and gallbladder health
  • Inhibits lipid peroxidation
  • Used to help treat the liver, arteriosclerosis, nervous tension, arthritis and carpal tunnel
Whether you choose to use Roman Chamomile or German Chamomile, you will not be sorry. Both oils will aid you in bringing an inner zen and peace to your life.

Young Living with Marjoram

Marjoram is usually that weird spice most people don’t use in their spice rack. But the medicinal properties of this great herb should not be overlooked.
Originally from France and Egypt, Marjoram has been knows as the “herb of happiness” to the Romans and the “joy of themountains” to the Greeks. It soothes muslces and alleviates joint discomfort. It’s antibacterial, antifungal, and can lower blood pressure. It can help with digestive issues by promoting peristaltic contractions in your intestines, the contractions that make your digestive system work and break down food. It also helps with coughing. It has been used to help with arthritis, headaches, and infections. And it assists in calming the nerves, which we all need.
You can apply it with a carrier oil to a specific sore muscle or joint, add it to your bath, or diffuse it in your home.
It’s found in Aroma Life, Aroma Siez, Dragon Time, M-Grain, andR.C. Young Living blends.

Young Living with Citrus Fresh

Citrus Fresh is just as it sounds: A very fresh, citrus scent. It combines Orange, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Lemon, Mandarin, and Spearmint to create this uplifting oil blend. Spearmint is the odd one out, but it keeps these citrus oils uplifted and more refreshing smelling.
  • Orange is elevating to the mind and body and has anticoagulant properties
  • Tangerine sedates and combats anxiety and nervousness
  • Grapefruit is very decongesting and fat dissolving
  • Lemon is purifying and uplifting
  • Mandarin has sedative and slightly hypnotic properties
  • Spearmint supports the respiratory and nervous systems
This combination stimulates the right brain and amplifies creativity. It can help put anxiety on the shelf. It purifies the air.
Diffuse this oil, or put a drop in your water. Taking a drop in your water can increase the uplifting affects and can cleanse your systems.
There is a possible sun and skin sensitivity, since it’s so citrus-filled.

Young Living with Harmony

Seeking harmony and peace is something I do regularly. This blend from Young Living Essential Oils promotes physical and emotional healing through the aromas. The blend of sandalwood, lavender, ylang ylang, frankincense, orange, angelica, geranium, hyssop, spanish sage, spruce, coriander, bergamot, lemon, jasmine, roman chamomile, palmarosa, and rose oil calms the nerves and keeps anxiety at bay.
Obviously, there are a ton of different oils listed there, but each one has its own cause.
  • Sandalwood simulates the pineal gland and helps remove negativity.
  • Lavender relaxes and calms the body and helps combat insomnia and headaches.
  • Ylang Ylang promtes relaxation and restores equilibrium.
  • Frankincense elevates the mind and helps to overcome stress and despair.
  • Orange induces a calming effect over the whole body.
  • Angelica brings memories back and helps to release negative feelings.
  • Geranium stimulates nerves and balances hormones.
  • Hyssop balances emotions.
  • Spanish Sage is high in limonene, which prevents DNA damage.
  • Spruce opens and releases emotional blocks.
  • Coriander relieves nausea and supports healthy immune function.
  • Bergamot uplifts and calms, relieving stress, anxiety, and tension.
  • Lemon is stimulating and invigorating which helps with well-being.
  • Jasmine dispels hopelessness.
  • Roman Chamomile purges toxins from the liver.
  • Palmarosa is revitalizing to the nervous and cardiovascular systems.
  • Rose creates a sense of balance, harmony, and well-being and also elevates the mind.
With that combination, Harmony essential oil blend is a sure-fire way to increase that balance and harmony within your own life.

Young Living with Motivation

Stimulating feelings of achievement and action, Motivation increases strength to overcome fear and procrastination. With the summer coming, it can be a little difficult to stay motivated to do things you need to do. Unfortunately, you have to do them to do the things you want to do.

The mix of Roman Chamomile, Spruce, Ylang Ylang, and Lavender mix to combat insomnia, tension, an restlessness; purge toxins from the liver; release emotional blocks; restore confidence; and improve concentration.

Motivation is a great companion when trying to endure writing a long paper, study for a big exam, or riding your bicycle for an extended period of time.

Young Living with Valor

Valor is easily one of my favorite oils from Young Living. It’s designed to instill courage and confidence. It can help the body balance and align itself. It’s sweet and relaxing to smell. And it’s a fun purplish-blue color!
Young Living blends fractionated coconut oil, spruce, rosewood, blue tansy, and frankincense to make this admired oil. They use fractionated coconut oil to keep the shelf life longer. Spruce opens and releases emotional blocks, increasing balance and grounding. Another big grounder and strengthener in this oil is the rosewood, which is also anti-infectious, antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antispasmodic. Blue tansy is one of my favorite scents, and it helps cleanse the liver and lymphatic system which helps to overcome anger and negative emotions, promoting self control. Frankincense stimulates the limbic system to help overcome despair and stress while also combating depression.
It’s so admired that I am only allowed to order two 5ml bottles per month! They’ve been having trouble keeping enough in stock for everyone. For a while, you couldn’t order it and they had no estimated time for having it return! It comes in a dropper bottle and a roll-on, so you can keep it with you and apply to your wrists or neck when needed.

Young Living with Christmas Spirit

christmas-spirit-essential-oil‘Tis the season! And Young Living has an oil for that. This combination of Orange, Cinnamon, and Spruce oils brings joy, peace, happiness and security while reminiscing in the winter holidays. The sweet, spice, and evergreen blend is the perfect companion for any holiday home.

You can use this oil directly on your skin, on the wrists, heart, neck, or temples, to help you call those jolly feelings and giving spirit. You can also put a few drops on wood before putting into the fireplace. Diffuse it throughout your home or add it to your bath. I like to spray it on my tree, since it’s fake and doesn’t add the natural pine scent. You can also spray it on pinecones or other handmade presents. Add a couple of drops to a tissue or cotton ball and put it in your drawers.
